President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday reminded Filipinos to only listen to reliable health information in relation to 2019 novel coronavirus.
In a recorded video broadcast by Radio Television Malacañang, Duterte asked the public to disregard unverified claims about the virus.
“Maging maingat at yung mga impormasyon na importante na manggaling sa WHO (World Health Organization), ay ating pakinggan. At huwag makinig diyan sa mga haka-haka,” the President said.
“Sa gobyerno kayo nakatutok. Nandiyan ang totoo sa gobyerno, wala diyan sa mga taong haka-haka na wala namang ginawa kung hindi manakot para kapwa niya tao,” he added.
Duterte also urged people to stay calm and to cooperate with the government against coronavirus.
“I call on our people to remain calm, vigilant, responsible and I also ask your trust and cooperation, support as we face the challenge. Tayo ay magkaisa together as one nation, this challenge can be overcome,” he concluded.
