Duterte admits he might not leave an infrastructure legacy like Marcos, Imelda: Lahat ng presidente, walang binuga!
Even President Rodrigo Duterte himself does not believe in the much ballyhooed golden age of infrastructure being touted by his economic managers no matter how many times they say ‘build.”
In a disaster relief briefing Sunday, Duterte told Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos that he doubted whether his administration, just like all the presidents before him, could leave the same infrastructure legacy left by her parents – former President Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda.
“Alam mo ang tatay mo may iniwan, nanay mo may iniwan. May building, may mga… Ano ito? Cultural Center. ‘Yung lahat ng dumaan wala.Ako, wala rin akong maipag… well, ewan ko kung anong…Bahala ni wala akong magawa,” said Duterte.
“Basta ako ano lang, straight lang lahat. If I can only stop corruption in government, that is the only that I can only do or will do, or must do, okay na sa akin ‘yan,” he added.
Imee concurred with the President noting how a pet project of her mother had outlasted succeeding projects in other administrations,
“Yung LRT 1 ng mommy ko. Ang bulok-bulok na umaandar pa,” said Imee.
