President Rodrigo Duterte has allowed nurses with complete documents as of August 31, 2020 to leave the country for jobs overseas.

“Nakinig naman po ang Presidente sa hinaing ng mga nurses,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing Monday.

“Yung meron na pong mga papeles at kumpletong documentation as of August 31, 2020, pinapayagan na po ni Presidente na makaalis para sa kanilang trabahon abroad,” added Roque.

Citing the Department of Labor and Employment, the Palace official said some 1,500 nurses and other health professionals will benefit from this.

Earlier, only healthcare workers who have signed employment contracts as of March 8 were allowed to deploy abroad.
