President Rodrigo Duterte is urging Congress to pass a supplemental budget amounting to P30 billion to help the victims of the Taal volcano eruption.
Duterte made the statement during the ceremonial distribution of calamity assistance to the families affected by Taal’s unrest held in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas Monday.
“There is money and we will just have to ask from the National Terasurer kung magkulang,” according to him.
“Ang budget ngayon was prepared last year. The budget for next year is being prepared now this eyar.
Meanwhile, Duterte also urged lawmakers to provide funding for the construction of permanent evacuation centers nationwide.
That would be Samar, Isabela, Cagayan, pati dito, he said.
