President Rodrigo Duterte chose to finish the second day of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Papua New Guinea.
Duterte was supposed to cut short his participation in the APEC events and to fly home Saturday night.
“Hindi naman umuwi kagabi. He wants to attend the meeting,” Philippine Ambassador to Papua New Guinea Bienvenido Tejano said on Sunday.
“I am very happy that he will be here to attend the whole meeting,” Tejano added.
This morning, Duterte, together with other APEC leaders posed for their second family photo at the APEC Haus in Port Moresby.
They also convened for an Informal Dialogue on the State of the Regional and Global Economy with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde.
