Duterte calls for probe into killing of Red Santillan

Malacañang has condemned the “brutal and brazen” killing of election lawyer and former Biliran representative Glenn Chong’s security aide.
This, after Public Attorney’s Office Forensics chief Erwin Erfe said that Richard Red Santillan, who was killed in an alleged police operation in Cainta, Rizal last December 10, was tortured before he was shot to death.
Salvador Panelo, spokesman of President Rodrigo Duterte, said the chief executive has ordered a “fair and thorough investigation” to bring to justice the perpetrators of this incident.
“Serious accusations have been made against some members of the CALABARZON Police. Let the chips fall as they may,” said Panelo.
“As we know by now, (Duterte) does not condone erring men in uniform who grossly violate the law. Similar to the Batocabe murder case, he certainly has the same commitment of getting justice done for the family, relatives, friends and for all those Mr. Santillan left behind,” he added.
