Duterte calls Saguisag an ‘as*h*le’: He just wants to be fashionable on the other side
President Rodrigo Duterte will not take sitting down criticisms on his actions, including fellow San Beda Law School alumni, former Senator Rene Saguisag.
Duterte did not like the adverse opinion of Saguisag, who labeled him a “bully”, on his order to revoke the 1997 contract of Manila Water and Maynilad for what the president believed were “plunder-worthy” provisions.
“May isang former senator nagsabi wala man raw siyang nakita na mali. You know because he is an a**h***. He just to be — want to be fashionable on the other side. Kaya papaano ma-correct natin ‘yan?” said Duterte.
In his Manila Time column, Saguisag said: “Agreements must be honored else who would invest if a future president would say that ‘onerous terms’ would be ‘corrected’ unilaterally, spiced by public slapping? Take it or leave it, the Palace bully now says, but even if taken, it can still supposedly jail Manny V. Pangilinan, who had nothing to do with the deal in 1997, when government dealt with the Ayalas and Lopezes who themselves had worked their butts off for generations and continue to do so.”
“They aren’t cronies who became instant billionaires on Imelda Marcos’ ‘Some Are Smarter Than Others’ mold reminiscent of Honoré de Balzac’s behind every great wealth is a great crime,” he added.
