President Rodrigo Duterte is fed up with human rights lawyer Chel Diokno who has criticized him for using the virus lockdown to further his oppression.
In a late night speech, Duterte dared Diokno to breach his order for all citizens to stay at home and avoid mass gatherings during the enhance community quarantine in Luzon.
“Subukan mong mag-converge-converge… constitutional right… subukan mo.
On Day One of Duterte’s lockdown, Diono questioned the police threat to arrest citizens for violation quarantine rules and going out of their homes and moving around in Metro Manila
““The PNP cannot arrest and detain you for violating public health emergency measures. They can stop you and bar your entry, that is just right if needed, but they cannot arrest and detain you because entering Metro Manila is not a crime,” said Diokno in several tweets.
On the third week of the lockdown, Diono said the National Bureau of Investigation has abused its authority bu going after citizen who posts critical messages against the lockdown on Facebook.
Duterte is adamant that he has no patience for troublemakers like Diokno during a crisis.
“I’m sure in the coming days, there will be arrests and complaints and a lot of lousy lawyers like Chel Diokno encouraging to violate the law,” said Duterte.
