Duterte furious at Sanchez, Chiong sisters killers, other heinous crime convicts: Gusto ko sila patayin, wala lang opportunity

If only he has the chance, President Rodrigo Duterte says he wants to kill murderer-rapist Antonio Sanchez, the perpetrators of the Chiong sisters murder, and other heinous crime convicts.

Duterte mde this remark after firing Bureau of Corrections Chief Nic Faeldon for approving the early release of 1,700 heinous crime convicts – including Josman Aznar, Alberto Caño, and Ariel Balansag who were among seven individuals convicted of kidnapping, raping and murdering sisters Marijoy and Jacqueline Chiong in Cebu in 1997. – and the aborted release of Sanchez who is serving seven life sentences for the rape and murder of Eileen Sarmenta and torture and murder of Allan Gomez in 1993.

“Given the propensity of ‘yung 1,700 including ‘yung nagpatay sa Chiong sisters pati ‘yung sa Sanchez. Iyon ang mga high-profile na galit ang tao. Galit ako, pero…” said Duterte in a briefing Wednesday.

“Gusto ko silang patayin kaya lang wala namang opportunity. But given, I will execute them. No problem. As a matter of fact, I can take their place inside the Muntinlupa,” he added.

He urged the 1,700 heinous crime convicts to surrender or be arrested dead or alive. But if it was up to him, Duterte said he’d rather see them dead rather than feed and house them in already packed city jails.

“Ako preferably — you know my predilection. Bakit pa ako — bakit pa ako p*** gagastos para pakainin kita, bigyan mo ako ng problema, makalayas kayo ulit, problema na naman. Tapusin na natin ngayon,” said Duterte.

“So hindi ako maghugas ng kamay. But ‘yung mga relatives, wala ho ako dito. Secretary of Justice, siya ‘yung nagsu-supervise ng BuCor, all the penal institutions, mga bureaus, NBI, kanya ‘yan under the Department of Justice,” he added.
