Duterte harbors grudge vs. Ateneo: They never probed sexual abuse by priests
President Rodrigo Duterte continues to harbor a grudge against the administration of Ateneo De Davao University (ADDU) for allegedly turning a blind eye to the sexual abuse that he and his classmates suffered.
Duterte brought up the alleged sexual abuse that happened when he was a student when he spoke at a gathering of gastroenterologists Friday (September 21) in Cebu.
“I have nothing against them but the problem is, they never really investigated the cases,” he said of ADDU’s administrators.
Duterte said the Jesuit priest Harry Falvey abused several students in ADDU and the school did not do anything about it.
“He was assigned here at — in Mindanao, Ateneo. They never investigated the case. I knew that the church knew about this and the homosexuality all over and the philandering priest,” he said.
