Duterte justifies ban on vape use, importation: ‘EO will come’

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday defended his move to ban the use and importation of e-cigarette or vape absent executive order.
In his speech delivered at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo Wednesday, Duterte said he does not want anyone in the country vaping.
The President noted that the executive order on vape ban “will come.”
He also cited a certain law that prohibits the distribution of toxic materials in public places as basis for his order.
“Anything that is used in this country, most especially substitutes for cigarettes is being used by the youth of this country with gusto not understanding the consequences,” Duterte said.
“Nicotine is an addictive devil. And if you have to have a fix, well, you have to find some latrine there anywhere, but not in the madding crowd,” he added.
