President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said he’s ready to go to jail after the International Criminal Court (ICC) Fatou Bensouda found reasonable basis to believe that crimes against humanity were committed in his campaign against illegal drugs.

Duterte was reacting to former Senator Antonio Trillanes’ statements on Twitter that despite attempts to ignore the ICC inquiry on his deadly war on drugs, Duterte “cannot get away” from it.

“Mas marunong ka pa. Bakit mo ako takutin na magpreso? If it is my destiny that mapreso ako, ‘di mapreso ako,” he said during his weekly address.

The Chief Executive added that he is not afraid of ICC and is willing to die for his principles.

Ginagawa ko ang tama,” he said.
