Duterte ‘not contented’ with PNP chief shortlist – Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte may not be contended with the three top contenders for Philippine National Police (PNP) chief post, his spokesman said.
Duterte has yet to appoint the next top cop after General Oscar Albayalde retired from the service last month.
“Eh siguro hindi pa siya kontento eh,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters on Monday.
“What he is saying is that, he wants an honest cop. He doesn’t want any cop that has been charged with any irregularity, any infraction whether administrative or criminal,” added Panelo.
Asked if the national police body has a shallow bench in terms of possible choices to be the next head of the police organization, the Palace official said: “Hindi shallow, baka naman hindi pa nakakarating sa kanya iyong mga magagaling. Marami namang magagaling, pero kung hindi nakakarating sa kanya ang mga pangalan. Let’s just wait for him.”
