Duterte on firing Robredo as ICAD co-chair: Ang kinatatakutan ko magkalat siya

President Rodrigo Duterte said he fired Vice President Leni Robredo as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) because he feared she would screw things up.
“Ang kinatatakutan ko magkalat siya. There was a time when I said, ‘Leni Robredo you cannot hack it’. Kaya ako takot, the more that she stays with the ICAD, the more that she would create issues and the more that the people will be like in quandary, ‘Ano ba and totoo dito?’ Kasi wala talaga siyang alam,” said Duterte in an interview on GMA’s “Unang Hirit.”
The President said he appointed Robredo just to give ICAD “direction and guidance” in its campaign against illegal drugs.
“And you know what happened, she made an asshole of herself. Una, in-appoint ko siya, kinabuksan pumunta siya sa embassy ng US. That’s the one thing that I don’t like, if you are a sovereign nation, you should not be like a, para kang… an ass-licking guy,” he added.
Robredo only spent 19 days after she accepted the offer of the President to be the government’s anti-drug czar.
