Duterte orders ‘full-scale’ probe into other PhilHealth anomalies

President Rodrigo Duterte has directed the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct a “full-scale” investigation on other corrupt practices in PhilHealth.
This, after Duterte asked PhilHealth acting president Roy Ferrer and the members of the board to submit their courtesy resignation amid allegations of anomalous kidney treatments.
“We assure our people that the services of PhilHealth will remain unhampered as operations will continue and will be momentarily run by second-level officials pending the subject investigation,” said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo in a statement.
Panelo said Duterte also sought an “in-depth study” on how the reported fraudulent Philhealth claims were systematically committed.
“There will be criminal prosecutions of all those involved. No one will be spared,” the spokesman said.
“There is zero tolerance on corruption under this Administration,” he added.
