Duterte proposes police escort for emergency ambulance: ‘Duty bound to hila’

President Rodrigo Duterte wants the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group to escort ambulances through heavy traffic.
Duterte issued this remark following a report that many patients in Manila have died when ambulances get tied up in traffic.
“Maybe I will ask all, itong lahat na, Metro Manila, Highway Patrol, pag may emergency, wag lang yang emergency na nagmamadali. Minsan ang iba maski walang emergency nagsa-siren. Pag ganun huli talaga. Ngayon may naktita silang nag siren, hilain na lang. Itabi nila para makalusot and maybe that will be a mandatory work for them,” he added.
The President said he would suggest this proposal to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Danilo Lim.
“Proposed ko kay Danny Lim itong hagad sa police. Must hila. Duty bound to hila,” according to him.
