Duterte rants against HR group for making de Lima a ‘Joan of Arc’: Salvagin ko mga bugok na ‘yan!
President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his extreme disapproval against an international human rights group for awarding detained Senator Leila de Lima with the “highest human rights awards” which placed her on the same pedestal as former President Cory Aquino and Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.
In a speech before members of the Philippine Military Academy alumni, Duterte said he could not fathom why the Liberal International believed that de Lima deserved to get its coveted “Prize for Freedom.”
“Ngayon, before the international crowd she’s a Joan of Arc. Anak ng puta, binibigyan pa ng medal of valor. Pagka bugok nitong mga putang ina ‘to uy. Patawarin sana sila,” said Duterte.
He called members of Liberal International as good for nothing and threatened to kill them if they set foot in the country.
“Kaya kung dito ‘yan sila sa Pilipinas, sinalvage ko na ‘yan. Anak ng putang ina. Barilin mo ‘yang putang inang ‘yan. Walag gud ka-kwenta-kwentang,” said Duterte.
Duterte said de Lima has turned to the international human rights groups for sympathy in her detention due to what she claimed were trumped up drug charges.
“I was investigated by De Lima when she was Secretary of Justice, no charges. When she was a senator, they investigated me, no charges. Ngayon, violator ako ng human rights, eh ‘di sana dinemanda mo ako. Ilang beses ninyo ako na inimbestiga,” said Duterte.
