President Rodrigo Duterte showed he’s no different from fathers who would do everything for their children by sharing why he had to take up a teaching job more than four decades ago.
In a speech at the National SWAT Challenge in Davao City Thursday (March 1), Duterte said he taught at an academy for policemen during his younger years to be able to buy milk for his son, Paolo or Pulong.
“Itong si Pulong… Nandito ba? Kamahal ang gatas niyan, S26,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience.
“Kasi hindi maka-ano ng — oo totoo, hindi maka-ano ng — nagtatae, lactose intolerance. S26 mahal yan. Kaya ako napilitan mag-professor,” he added.
Duterte, an abogado, said he taught Criminal Law, Criminal Evidence, Criminal Procedure.
Since he was working as a government prosecutor at the time Paolo was born, Duterte said he had to travel at night to teach.
