Duterte rushed to hospital? Palace: President skipped Pagcor event to have ‘private time’
Speculation about President Rodrigo Duterte’s health are swirling once again after he skipped an event in Malacañang Wednesday (October 3).
Duterte was a no-show at the turnover of a check from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, which was scheduled for 4 p.m. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea attended the event in his place.
There were rumors that Duterte was taken to Cardinal Santos Medical Center but the Palace denied it.
“Not true,” said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Asked for the reason behind Duterte’s absence, Roque said: “He wanted private time.”
Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said Duterte will be back in the public eye Thursday (October 4).
He said one of Duterte’s “many events” scheduled for Thursday is a dinner with the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. in Malacañang.
“We will definitely be seeing the President tomorrow [Thursday] as he will be attending many events and will be meeting with different groups in the Palace,” Go said.
The Palace has repeatedly said that Duterte is healthy even though he admitted to having a host of ailments, such as Buerger’s Disease, Barrett’s esophagus, and migraine as a result of the motorcycle accident he had years ago.
