The Presidential Security Group (PSG) on Wednesday assured that President Rodrigo Duterte is “safe and in good health” even 45 of its members tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

In a statement, PSG chief Colonel Jesus P. Durante III said the PSG personnel who contracted the virus were not directly or closely detailed with Duterte.

They are all asymptomatic, Durante also said.

“Despite the challenges posed by the virus, PSG continues to perform its mandate,” he added.

Duterte’s close-in security group noted that they have established Covid-19 protocols to protect the President from all forms of threats at all times.
