As typhoon “Ulysses” continues to batter Luzon, President Rodrigo Duterte assured the public that the government is on top of the situation.
In his address to the nation Thursday, Duterte said even before the typhoon hit land, various government agencies have already been mobilized to ensure the safety of affected residents.
“As President, I guarantee you that your government will do its best to provide assistance in the form of shelters, relief goods, financial aid and post-disaster counseling. Rest assured, the government will not leave anybody behind. We will get through this crisis, I assure you,” according to him.
Also, Duterte shared that the Presidential Security Group (PSG), his security detail, has prevented him from going out to check the situation in areas badly hit by Ulysses.
“Gusto ko kung sabihin mo lang as a concern for buhay or kapakanan, wala ako diyan. Gusto kong lumabas, gusto kong lumangoy. Matagal na akong hindi naligo eh kaya lang ayaw nitong mga sundalo ,sila ang ayaw gustong maligo, ibig sabihin,” he also said.
