The Presidential Security Group (PSG) on Monday announced the creation of a Task Force Covid-19 to implement stringent measures to protect President Rodrigo Duterte from the novel coronavirus.
The new task force aims to implement and meticulously assess preventive measures against infection among PSG personnel and dependents, Malacañang employees, other concerned parties, and Duterte and the first family, according to the PSG.
In its website, the President’s security group said it will strictly enforce a “no-touch” policy on Duterte and will maintain at least a 10-meter distance between the chief executive and the audience.
“For private functions or meetings, only those who were tested and found negative from Covid-19 will be allowed to be near (Duterte), while those not tested shall maintain at least 6-feet or 2-meter distance from him,” the PSG said.
It will also regularly conduct sanitation and disinfection of PSG compound and Malacañang Complex to include neighboring buildings and facilities, as well as organize medical teams and establish quarantine sites within the complex.
