Duterte slams Rufino-Prietos anew: Nagmamalinis pero corrupt pala!
President Rodrigo Duterte has slammed the owners of the Philippine Daily Inquirer anew over the paper’s critical coverage of him despite their alleged involvement in wrongdoing.
In a speech before motorcycle enthusiasts in Albay Saturday (April 21), Duterte said he can insult the Inquirer because he has nothing to hide unlike the Rufino-Prietos.
“Kaya sabihin ko, ‘p***** i** kayong Inquirer. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. Mile Long, for 50 years walang kontrata, wala kaming makita kung magkanong binayad ng Inquirer pati si Prieto, pati ang donut niya,” he said.
“Eh kasi sila nagmamalinis. ‘Yun pala sila rin ang corrupt,” Duterte added.
The President said his critics will be unable to prove he has ill-gotten wealth since his bank accounts only have around P40 million in deposits.
Sunvar Realty Development Corporation, a real estate firm owned by the Rufino-Prietos, vacated the Mile Long property in Makati City following a tough legal battle with the government over its right to collect rent despite the non-renewal of its lease agreement.
Last February, another firm owned by the family, Golden Donuts Inc., was charged by the Bureau of Internal Revenue for its alleged failure to pay P1 billion in taxes.
