President Rodrigo Duterte may deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasang Pambansa with a limited number of audience, his spokesman said.
His annual speech is scheduled on July 27 amid the prevailing coronavirus disease pandemic
“Dalawa lang ang pinag-uusapan: pupuwedeng pumunta physically si Presidente na meron lang around 50 members of Congress, both from the House (of Representatives) and the Senate,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during a virtual presser Monday.
“Or, pupuwedeng live telecast na lang siya, pero reduced capacity rin dahil even under MGCQ (Modified General Community Quarantine), it will have to be 50 percent of the capacity of Congress,” added Roque.
Malacañang previously raised the possibility of a “blended” style SONA.
