President Rodrigo Duterte again spoke behind a bullet-proof glass panel during the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan’s political rally in Bacolod City Thursday.

“May ara man ako nga salamin. Kani nga salamin, makita mo ako pero ang makita ko sarili ko lang naga speech. Waay man ako makakita sang mga tao,” said Duterte.

On April 3, Duterte also addressed the crowd at the campaign sortie of his senatorial slate under PDP-Laban in Malabon City.

In a statement, Malacañang explained that the bulletproof glass was placed on the presidential podium to ensure Duterte’s safety.

“Whether the threats are real or imagined, we take them seriously and the Palace commends the Presidential Security Group for doing a good job,” added presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
