President Rodrigo Duterte slammed former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, his fiercest critic, for continuously speaking out against his government.
In a speech delivered in Davao City Thursday evening, Duterte urged the public to “avoid” those who engage in political grandstanding.
“Pati si Trillanes, sige daldal. Alam mo, you are — kayo ang nasa… Itong mga politiko, basta politika lang. So you — you know, you should avoid people like that. ‘Yung akala nila na sila ‘yung — ‘yung mga grandstanding na wala namang magawa. Hindi naman bemedalled. Hindi naman nagpunta ng giyera ang g***. Nasa opisina lang. Tapos mag-ambisyon,” according to him.
“‘Yung mga ganun, iwasan ninyo. I’m just advising you. Stay clear. Sisirain tayo,” the President also said.
A Quezon City court earlier issued an arrest warrant against Trillanes and nine others for sedition over the viral “Bikoy” videos that linked the Duterte family to the illegal drug trade.
Trillanes had called the complaint a case of “harassment” against him by Duterte’s “minions.”
