Duterte threatens Maynilad, Manila Water expropriation: What the f*ck did you do?

President Rodrigo Duterte has threatened to “expropriate everything” if he is dissatisfied with the explanation behind the “onerous” concession agreements signed in 1997 between the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and private water providers Maynilad and Manila Water.
Duterte made the statement during the mass oath-taking of the newly promoted officials of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Philippine Coast Guard in Malacañang.
“Gusto ko magharap silang lahat sa akin. Isa-isahin ko sila, ang mga abogado na gumawa ng kontrata, ang mga opisyal ng MWSS. Tanungin ko sila, ‘What the f*ck did you do and screwed the country?’,” the President said in his speech.
“Ngayon kung hindi ako satisfy, I will expropriate everything. Kunin ko lahat. Magdemanda ka nang magdemanda tutal dalawang taon na lang tapos, wala na ako. Anong idemanda sa akin?” he added.
Duterte continued his tirades against Metro Manila’s water concessionaires Tuesday despite their decision not to demand compensation from the government.
The Singapore-based Permanent Court of Arbitration earlier ordered the Philippine government to pay P7.4B to Manila Water and P3.4 billion to Maynilad for the delayed implementation of water rate hikes.
