President Rodrigo Duterte will announce the new quarantine status of provinces and regions tonight, his spokesman said.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte is currently in Davao City and will meet with his Cabinet members through the online platform Zoom.
“Yes, he is in Davao. We will not be able to join the President because the airport of Davao was closed to all incoming flights. We will proceed with our meeting with him via Zoom. At inaasahan parin na magre-report ang ilang miyembro ng Gabinet lalung-lalo na po dito sa quarantine classifications,” Roque said in a televised briefing Monday.
“I can confirm that at 10 a.m today the IATF started their meeting baka hindi pa natatapos ngayon. Pero, in the meeting, a recommendation was made already by the technical working group that normally does the recommendations to the President on the quarantine classifications,” he added.
Metro Manila is currently under general community quarantine (GCQ). The mayors in National Capital Region recommended the extension of GCQ in their areas until December.
