Duterte to hotel-casino operators in Boracay: You can’t imagine what I’ll do to you if you defy me
President Rodrigo Duterte has issued a stern warning against hotel-casino operators in Boracay who were planning to defy his casino ban on the newly-reopened island.
Duterte said these hotel-casino operators could not imagine what he would to do them if defied his order.
“Iif I were the owner of the hotel, I should not be speculating of what will happen to me if I defy government,” said Duterte in a speech.
“I said there’s going to be no gambling and that’s it. Because we consulted the people here. People in Boracay do not want the casinos,” he added.
Duterte said Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu and Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano have “padlocked” the Boracay hotel-casinos.
Before it was closed on April 26, Business Mirror reported two casinos operating in Boracay – Movenpick Resort and Spa and the Crown Regency Resort and Convention Center. On its Facebook page, AG International Casino touts itself as the only casino in Boracay.
