‘Wag sa TV networks! Duterte tells Pinoys: Send donations to Red Cross instead

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday warned against “prominent networks” asking the public for donations to help disaster victims.
“Huwag kayong maniwala diyan minsan sa… I will not mention it… ‘yung mga prominent network. I’m giving you a testimony, personal, ang sabi mag-donate kayo used clothes ganun sa kanila tapos they will give you a bank account number where you can deposit your donation,” Duterte said.
During his briefing on typhoon Ompong in Isabela, the President urged the Filipino people to send their cash or in-kind donations to government agencies.
“You’re better of giving it to Red Cross or government, diretso mo sa military. Hindi kailangan ng military ‘yung damit, uniporme naman ang kanila,” he added.
“Minsan, I have a TV program, nakikita ko ang matatanda sa opisina, they are sorting out the things which are useable for them. So sabi ko alam ba ito nung sa taas? If you go to them, at tanungin niyo prangkahan, sabihin niyo sa akin ang totoo, they will tell you,” Duterte said.
