Duterte to visit China on Aug. 28

President Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to visit China for the fifth time on August 28, his spokesman said.

“Meron akong sa China. 28 ang alis hanggang September 2nd,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters Tuesday.

Duterte earlier said he will raise will raise the Philippines’ arbitral victory over the West Philippine Sea when he visits Beijing this month.

“We will be talking about (South) China Sea. Sinabi ko sa inyo yan. I’m going there because there are now some sparkles which need to be addressed immediately. Ayaw ko ng away,” he said in a speech last August 6.

The Chief Executive said he will also push for 60-40 joint oil and gas exploration deal with China, as well as, raise the delay in the formulation of the code of conduct in the South China Sea.
