Duterte to visit typhoon-stricken Albay

President Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to visit Legazpi City today to assess the damage from typhoon “Tisoy.”

Duterte will hold a situation briefing with local government officials at the Legazpi City Convention Center this afternoon.

Catanduanes acting Governor Shirley Abundo, Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara, Masbate Governor Antonio Kho, Camarines Sir Governor Miguel Luis Villafuerte, and Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo Tallado are among those expected to attend.

As of December 4, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that nine people died and 19 were injured in Regions CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, and VIII.

A total of 618,475 persons were affected in 2,269 barangays in Regions III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, and VIII, government data said.
