President Rodrigo Duterte has suggested prayers and offerings to calm down Taal Volcano.

Duterte made the statement on Tuesday during his situational briefing on the effects brought about by the eruption of Taal.

“Maybe you have failed to make some offerings there. You should go there and say a little prayer and offer something,” the President said.

“Let’s go by the primitive way of doing it just like what our forefathers were doing. You make some offerings. It was true then, it might be true now.

“We are a Christian country. We believe in no other power than God. But you know, alongside with God, ito yung mga may ari ng bulkan, the Mount Makiling,” he added.
