President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday congratulated the local government units for their response to the recent Taal Volcano eruption.
At the situation briefing in Batangas on the impact of the volcanic activity, Duterte said he is “very pleased” with how the government responded to the areas affected by the disaster.
“All agencies are all here on hand and are trying their best to do their best to help the communities,” according to him.
Meanwhile, the chief executive apologized for not visiting the Taal-hit areas immediately.
“I’m sorry I was not around. I was in Davao, but I was preparing to leave that night when I was informed that I could not make it because of the ash. Early morning (Monday), I insisted to be here because there is a crisis,” he said.
