President Rodrigo Duterte has vetoed the security of tenure (SOT) bill.

This was confirmed by Duterte’s spokesman Salvador Panelo on Thursday evening.

Panelo did not elaborate on why the President vetoed the measure.

The proposal was set to lapse into law by July 27.

The SOT bill intends to prohibit the practice of labor-only contracting or the so-called “endo.”
