Duterte vows ‘no mercy’ for officials delaying cell site permits: ‘Don’t give me that sh*t’

The government will show “no mercy” for local government officials delaying the release of permits for the construction of telecommunication towers, President Rodrigo Duterte said.
Duterte said he finds the 200-day delay in the process of approving permits to establish telco facilities “unacceptable.”
“Talagang ipahabol ko kayo at saka walang pakiusapan. No mercy ako either supporter kita, tumulong ka sa eleksyon. Sinabi ko sa inyo ang pinakatulong na magawa mo sa akin is huwag mong pahirapan ang gobyerno to act, and these are the projects of government,” according to him.
“Although hindi ang pribado na kompanya na gumagawa the actual building of tower, it is still a project of government. They are commissioned and paid by government exactly to do what they are supposed to do, to building the towers, to having a subdivision, getting a conversion sa council. Karamihan niyan city and municipal council. Do not give me that s*** na abutin kayo, kung hindi idemanda ko kayong lahat,” he explained.
The President also lamented the unnecessary requirements that local governments require telco companies to comply.
“The reason why ang mga telco nahihirapan kasi ‘yung mga tower nila… it’s not being acted upon, and there are so many requirements that are being asked by the local government officials. Huminto kayo at huwag ninyong pahirapan ang Pilipino, not the government,” he said.
