Kinabog ang lahat! Palace: Economy under Duterte stronger than previous admins combined

By Prince Golez

Malacanang has boasted of the government’s economic achievements in President Rodrigo Duterte’s two and a half years in office.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the current administration “has achieved more than the combined terms of the Arroyo and Aquino presidencies in terms of major policy reforms and flagship infrastructure projects.”

Panelo’s remark came after former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo called on the government to “produce tangible results” so the economic gains can improve the lives of poor Filipinos.

“The Administration has wasted no time and resources in enhancing workers’ employability and competitiveness, and for 2018, we generated 826,000 net employment with services and industry as main drivers for growth, as per the report of the Department of Labor and Employment,” the Palace official said.

“Further, we expect to create more jobs this year and the coming years with the Build, Build, Build Infrastructure Program now firing in all cylinders,” he added.
