Actor-businessman Luis Manzano revealed on Thursday (Oct. 28, 2015) that his father, Edu Manzano, surprised the family about his decision to run for senator for next year’s elections.
Nonetheless, the young actor said he and his siblings and their entire family are giving Edu full support. In fact, he added he is ready to adjust his busy schedule in showbiz and his business interests to campaign for his dad.
“No, actually it’s a surprise for the whole family that he was gonna run. I mean, six months before, he had a few clues here and there. Pero nagulat ako that he is gonna run for senator. I thought its gonna be for another position,” Luis said.
Manzano was interviewed prior to the start of the official announcement of the senatorial slate of presidential bet, Sen. Grace Poe and running-mate, Sen. Francis Escudero.
“Nung sinabi niya, no questions asked. We have 110 full support from the entire family,” he added.
Luis expressed belief that his father has what it takes to offer his services to the country. “For me, its all about my father showing the people his intentions, same when he ran for vice-president, same when he ran for vice-mayor of Makati which he won,” he said.
“Now, its gonna be clear kung ano ang mga plataporma niya,” the young actor added.
Apart from Manzano, returning senators Richard Gordon and Migz Zubiri, re-electionist Senators Tito Sotto and Ralph Recto, lawyer Lorna Kapunan, Rep. Roman Romulo, Rep. Neri Colmenares, Rep. Win Gatchalian, partylist Rep. Sammy Pagdilao, OFW advocate Susan Ople, Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno are part of the “unifying slate.”
