Former Senator JV Ejercito is opposed to the shutdown of the ABS-CBN television network despite getting supposed unfair treatment from the station.

Ejercito said he believes in press freedom and agreed that ABS-CBN must continue to operate to continue to monitor the conduct of government officials.

“Though ABS-CBN wasn’t exactly good to me or even my family, its better to be there to keep government on its toes all the time. Then government will always try to do its best to give genuine service to its people,” he tweeted.

The former lawmaker also remained unfazed by criticisms which he claims actually brings out the best in him.

“Critics are the ones that motivate me to do even better. They bring out the best in me,” he added.
