“Upon the assumption that the subject was indeed peasant leader Echanis, I have directed the AO 35 task force on EJK to form a special investigating team to look into the incident,” he said.
With this, the secretary said he has has asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) forensic division to confirm that the body of the victim is indeed of Echanis.
“It is necessary to confirm the identity of the victim before the task force on EJK starts its investigation of the incident,” Guevarra said.
Police said five persons were involved in the killing of two persons at a rented house in Quezon City last Monday (Aug. 10).
However, police contested that one of the victims is Echanis and said that based on the identification cared found the person is a certain Manuel Santiago.
