Elitista! Mon Tulfo claims Ateneo rejected laundrywoman’s daughter for senior HS despite passing test
Doesn’t Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) want poor students mingling with the children of Philippine society’s “who’s who”?
Special Envoy to China Ramon Tulfo shared an anecdote Thursday (October 24) proving once again that ADMU is indeed an elitist school.
In his Manila Times column, Tulfo claimed ADMU rejected a young girl who wanted to study in its senior high school even though he promised to support her through his foundation.
Tulfo said the girl, who was the daughter of a laundrywoman, passed the entrance test for senior high school. She also graduated at the top of her class at Rizal Science High School.
“I pleaded with the school to accept her as she had the potential of becoming a future leader with her high marks in all subjects, her lowest grade being 95 percent. The AdMU ignored my plea,” he said.
