Former Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos is the new chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Abalos will replace Danilo Lim, who passed away last week, according to Senator Christopher Go.
Malacañang has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
MMDA’s job is to formulate coordinate and regulate the implementation of medium and long term plans and programs for the delivery of metro-wide services, land use and physical development within Metro Manila.
The agency also sets the policies concerning traffic in the capital region, and oversees the implementation of all programs and projects concerning traffic management.
