The speech delivered by President Rodrigo Duterte at the 75th United Nations (UN) General Assembly was “excellent,” his spokesman said.
On Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte’s first UN speech was written by “Team Philippines” with significant inputs from the Chief Executive.
“The President’s speech in the UN General Assembly, I thought, was excellent.
In his UN speech aired Wednesday, Duterte raised the Philippines’ arbitral victory on the disputed South China Sea against China, rejecting attempts to undermine the 2016 ruling by a Hague tribunal.
The President also called on UN member-states to fully implement the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and the Chemical and the Biological Weapons Conventions as he raised the threat posed by nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons.
