MANILA — The son of Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Nicanor Faeldon Sr. was found negative for illegal drugs but the three other men who were arrested with him during Friday’s raid in Naga City failed the test.

The urine sample of Nicanor Faeldon Jr. tested free from the presence of “metamphetamine (shabu) and tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) metabolites, two both dangerous drugs,” according to the results released by the Camarines Sur Provincial Laboratory Office on Saturday.

The laboratory test was signed by Police Senior Insp. Vina Zarina Zadua-Conum, a forensic expert.

The three other suspects – Russel Lanuzo alias “Bubbles”, 47; Allan Valdez, 44; and Manuel Nebres, 39, all tested positive for “shabu”.

Elements of the Naga City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine Army served a search warrant against Lanuzo in his house along San Miguel St., Barangay Mabolo, Naga City at about 5 a.m. Friday.

Senior Supt. Felix Servita Jr., chief of the Naga City Police, said the raid was conducted after they received intelligence information that Lanuzo has allegedly been maintaining a drug den in his house.

The suspects were arrested during the raid and the search around the house yielded seven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.

However, Faeldon Jr. said he had no knowledge of any illegal drug activity in the area. He told police that he was only living in Lanuzo’s house with his girlfriend since they are both studying in Naga City. (PNA)
