Wear local, support Filipino industry.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat is making a pledge to wear anything locally made once a week.

The tourism chief accepted the challenge of designer JC Buendia to support the local industry with their attire.

“Three weeks ago we had a virtual interview and shoot for the 41st Anniversary of @philippinestar proudly wearing @filipinna 👗 and @tish.ph 👠” Puyat wrote on Instagram.

“This is my answer to @jcbuendia_ ‘s challenge where I pledge to wear Filipino made every Friday in an effort to support our artisans, designers, creatives, businesses, and our beloved local fashion industry,” she added.

The wear local pledge aims to “empower the Filipino Fashion Industry and inspire each other by wearing a Filipino-made piece.”

It includes posting a photo or video to “celebrate Filipino creativity as a nation and champion its preservation.”
