Six more areas have been added to the list of localities with relaxed confinement measures starting Saturday (May 16) amid the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Based on Resolution No. 37 of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, the following areas are under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from May 16 until May 31:

– National Capital Region

– Angeles City

– Bataan

– Bulacan

– Nueva Ecija

– Laguna

– Pampanga

– Zambales

Meanwhile, Cebu City and Mandaue City, both in Cebu, will be under ECQ until May 31.

The rest of the country are under general community quarantine.

Under MECQ, business establishments such as malls are allowed to reopen. People can also go outdoors for exercises such as walking, jogging and biking but must observe physical distancing and wear masks.

Schools will remain closed while government offices have the option to implement a skeleton workforce.

Public transport remains suspended while gatherings are limited to five people.
