Is the love affair between fans of President Rodrigo Duterte and his “spiritual running mate” in the May elections, Bongbong Marcos, already over?
That seems to be the case based on this “report card” posted on the Facebook page, DDS news. DDS stands for “Duterte Die-hard Supporters”.
The report card, titled “DDS grades sa mga kaalyado ni Tatay Digong”, gave a “bagsak” or failing grade to losing vice presidential bet Marcos. The reason? The group apparently finds him too silent on hot issues.
“Bakit ang tahimik mo?” read the DDS’s assessment of Marcos.
Indeed, the former senator has somewhat disappeared from the headlines following his lost to Leni Robredo in the tight vice presidential contest. His term as a lawmaker also expired last June 30.
During the campaign period, then-Davao City Mayor Duterte routinely expressed his admiration and trust in Marcos, sometimes to the detriment of his official running mate, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
Speaking of Cayetano, him, Senator Richard Gordon and PNP Director General Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa were all given “perfect” grades by DDS.
The trio had been Duterte’s “defenders” in the ongoing Senate hearings on the alleged extra-judicial killings in connection with the government’s all-out drug war.
Also slapped with a failing mark was Senate President Koko Pimentel, Duterte’s PDP-Laban party mate.
DDS faulted Pimentel for installing Senator Franklin Drilon as Senate President Pro Tempore and Senator Leila de Lima as Justice Committee chair. Drilon and De Lima are both Liberal Party (LP) politikos.
