Instead of trying to meddle in the administration’s campaign against illegal drugs, Malacañang has advised former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to just focus on his case before the Sandiganbayan and his health.
This, after Aquino said he was confused why President Rodrigo Duterte designated Vice President Leni Robredo as co-chairperson of the Inter-agency Committee Against Illegal Drugs if he does not trust her in the first place.
“As for former President Aquino, he is better off focusing on his case pending before the Sandiganbayan, as well as taking care of his health, than touching on a matter related to the dreaded drug menace that he never gave the attention and importance it deserves during his six-year Presidency,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters.
Panelo claimed the country’s drug problem grew worse under the Aquino administration.
“Lest we forget, the drug problem ballooned in magnitude in his time, obviously due to his neglect in countering this evil that is putting this country into the precipice of generational destruction,” he added.
