Rather than elaborate on the administration’s accomplishments, President Rodrigo Duterte will discuss his plans for the country in his upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA), Malacañang said Saturday (July 21).
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte will “once again articulate the people’s desire for genuine and meaningful change.”
“Traditionally, the SONA is a highlight of achievements of the previous year but this year’s SONA is all about the essentials on what PRRD intends to do in the next twelve months of his Administration,” he said.
Roque said what sets this year’s SONA apart was the conduct of a three-part series pre-SONA forum titled, “Tatak ng Pagbabago,” where the administration’s accomplishments have been spelled out.
The Palace earlier said Duterte’s SONA will not go beyond 35 minutes if he does not veer away from the prepared speech.
