Fraternity violence breeds culture of lawlessness – Hilbay

Dangerous and corrupting.

Former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay has expressed concern that violence committed in a fraternity or sorority breeds a culture of lawlessness.

“What’s wrong with fraternity or sorority related violence isn’t just the physical or emotional trauma inflicts but also the culture of lawlessness that it breeds,” he tweeted.

“It’s the dangerous & corrupting mindset that following their traditions are more important than following the law,” he said.

Hilbay made the remarks after the death of a Philippine Military Academy cadet reportedly due to hazing.

The PMA head has resigned for command responsibility following the controversial violence in the military school in Baguio.
